Kent

Log cabin holidays in Kent offer something genuinely different from the more obvious cabin destinations further north and west. The Garden of England is greener, gentler and more varied than most people expect, with a coastline stretching from the Thames Estuary to the white cliffs of Dover, a rolling inland landscape of orchards and hop gardens, and some of the finest historic towns in southern England.

The Kent coast has real appeal for a cabin break. Whitstable is one of the most characterful seaside towns in the country, famous for its oysters, independent shops and relaxed atmosphere. Broadstairs and Margate have both undergone genuine revivals in recent years, with excellent food scenes and long sandy beaches that work well for families. Further south, the Romney Marsh is flat, wild and strangely atmospheric, with a character all of its own.

Inland, the Weald of Kent provides the classic English countryside that draws visitors from across the world. Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Chartwell, Scotney Castle and the medieval town of Tenterden are all within easy reach of most cabin sites. The North Downs Way crosses the county from west to east, offering excellent walking through chalk downland and ancient woodland.

Log cabin holidays in Kent are particularly well suited to those travelling from London and the South East who want a proper countryside escape without a long journey. The county is often overlooked in favour of more dramatic destinations, but for a relaxed break with good food, beautiful countryside and genuine history on the doorstep, Kent delivers consistently well.
