Deerpark Lodge, Ashby de La Zouch

Deerpark Lodge is nestled in a charming clearing at the heart of the majestic parkland surrounding Staunton Harold Hall. The park is a stunning, 2000-acre country estate in north west Leicestershire, close to the Derbyshire border.

Built using estate timber for its frame and cladding, the lodge has been expertly finished. It includes plenty of traditional features such as exposed beams and a wood burning stove, combined with bright rooms and state of the art technology, to provides a comfortable, stylish retreat overlooking the picturesque parkland.

Deerpark Lodge has access to the craft centre, tea rooms, delicatessen (at weekends) and garden nursery, which are all part of the Staunton Harold Estate. Guests can also enjoy the 28 acres of privately owned land that is not open to the public, take numerous walks around the grounds, admire the spectacular lakes, and even do a spot of fishing, at no extra charge.

Deerpark Lodge accommodation

The lodge consists of three bedrooms, one en-suite walk-in shower, and one family bathroom.

It is spacious and full of light, and even has a large decked area – including a barbecue and furniture – that’s great for al fresco drinks on a warm evening.

The living space is comfortable and cosy, complete with a wood burning stove that is perfect for curling up near when the weather is less than ideal. It also has a wall-mounted TV with DVD player, and the lodge has its own Wi-Fi connection, which ensures the opportunity for entertainment for the whole family.

General amenities include:
Central heating (wood fired with hot water immersion back up), an electric cooker, a fridge with a small integrated freezer, a dishwasher and washer/dryer. A full-size fridge/freezer is also connected in the garden shed.

A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are all available. Up to two, well-behaved, dogs are welcome.

There is ample on site parking.

The area is a haven for walking and outdoor enthusiasts, with an abundance of beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Step out into the beautiful surroundings, and spend an idyllic morning discovering the fascinating local wildlife and admiring the lovely views.

Chatsworth House is just an hour’s drive away, and provides stunning architecture to admire and fascinating history to discover. And of course Alton Towers is close by; great for a day full of thrills and excitement.

The vibrant city of Leicester is also well worth a visit, with rich history, a bustling nightlife, fantastic shops, and excellent bars and restaurants to enjoy.

There really is something for everyone in this charming area of the country, and Deerpark Lodge makes a fabulous base for exploring the picturesque region.
